Favorite quotes about life and living green

{Thursday's By Tara} - A Thursday ritual. A featured post written by Tara; simple, special, extraordinary moments in soaping and life.

Some favorite quotes I have found about Natural Living and Going Green

“To cherish what remains of the Earth and to foster its renewal is our only legitimate hope of survival.”  ~ Wendell Berry

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” ~ Archbishop Desmond Tutu

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead

“Simplifying your life is about gaining control of your life – creating more time, on the job and at home, to do the things you want to do. It is about streamlining your life so you have time for the people and things you love.” ~ Wendy Priesnitz

“When we heal the earth, we heal ourselves.” ~ David Orr

"The future of our children is a trust we have been given. To conserve and grow, not to squander wastefully on needless excesses. The earth is a trust, to protect and to honor. Our home, our livelihood, our future rests in the quality of our stewardship. Let us become better stewards." ~ Dr. Helen Caldicott

Live simply that others might simply live.  ~Elizabeth Seaton

Great things are done when men and mountains meet.  This is not done by jostling in the street.  ~William Blake

The words of great people inspire me to follow my dreams and live the life I want to live.  I try to incorporate things into my family’s daily life to make our home more green.  We make our own laundry soap, recycle so many items that we had to create our own recycle bins, because the two they give us are never enough, our books and toys are ALWAYS passed on for other kids to enjoy, and we in turn try to buy as many previously loved ones as we can.
What does your family do to give back to our planet?
